Community takeovers
Redirecting a creator's fees when the creator is gone.
A community takeover moves the creator's fee stream to whoever is actually running the project now. It changes who gets paid and nothing else. Supply, pricing, pairing and locked liquidity all stay exactly as they were, and the tax cannot be raised above what the launch started with.
Two routes
- Voluntary. A creator stepping away hands their fees to a community wallet themselves. It takes effect immediately.
- Protocol proposed. Deliberately slow and public. Nothing happens for three days. After that anyone can carry it out, and if nobody does within a further three days the proposal expires. We can call it off during the wait.
A creator moving their fees elsewhere during the waiting period does not cancel the proposal. That is intentional: otherwise someone who had stolen a creator's wallet could sidestep the recovery by moving the fees again.
The unclaimed balance is burned
When a takeover is executed, fees the previous recipient never claimed are not handed to the new one and not kept by us. They are spent buying the coin and burning it, in bounded steps, on whichever venue the coin trades on. There is no withdrawal path for that budget.
